Joshua Oneil Allen, 27, of Athens, is being held in Limestone Detention Center without bail for breach of probation and on $5,000 for new charges received. Allen was arrested following a car accident on January 28, 2022.
On January 25, the LCSO received a report from Allen, a convicted felon, in possession of a sawed-off shotgun, displaying it in a threatening manner. Two days later, Limestone County Investigator Steven Ferguson began working on an identity theft case and discovered that the victim’s bank account number had been compromised and used for funds illegally. illicit. Allen was discovered as a suspect and allegedly obtained $549.53 using the victim’s identity.
The next day, Allen was involved in an accident. He was arrested on two probation violation warrants for prior robbery convictions. Allen was also found in possession of an illegal short barrel shotgun with the serial number removed. He was arrested on both outstanding warrants for third-degree larceny and additionally charged with identity theft and possession of a modified firearm.
