Cooling Program Offers Unique Electric Assistance to Qualified Kentucky Households
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ/PRESS RELEASE) – Kentucky Community Action Agencies is accepting applications for the cooling component of the Spring Grant of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until June 17, 2022 or until designated funds are exhausted.

The amount of the benefit granted depends on the household income and the type of accommodation. Benefits are paid directly to the electricity supplier.

All applicants will be required to provide the following documents at the time of application:
- Proof of social security number or permanent residence card (green card) for each member of the household.
- Proof of all household income (all members) for the previous month.
- Most recent electric bill, statement from your landlord if electricity is included in your rent, statement from the utility company if you participate in a prepaid electricity program.
- The account number and the name on the account for the main sources of heating fuel and the electricity bill.
