You just opened a bank account with Truist Bank, or maybe you opened one with SunTrust or BB&T before they merged in 2019. Now you need to access your account online but you don’t know where to start.
Don’t worry, you can connect from any computer or use a tablet or smartphone app. Just follow the instructions below.
How to log in to your Truist Bank account from a computer
To log in on a computer, go to Truist.com and click “Login” in the upper right corner. This will load the Truist login window. Here you can enter your username and password.
If you have never registered for online banking, you do not yet have a user ID. After clicking “Login”, the second link from the bottom of the new window says “Register Now”. Click on this link to be redirected to the page where you can register to use online banking services. Make sure you have your ATM card, debit card or account number ready.
How to log in to your Truist Bank account through the app
To use the Truist app, you must have iOS 13 or later Where Android OS 8 or later. Once the app has downloaded to your phone or tablet, tap it to open it. It will automatically ask for your username and password when you open the app.
Selecting one of the links will usually take you to the Truist site on your phone’s browser.
How to recover your lost username or password
If you can find the Truist online login screen, you can recover your username or password. If you can’t find the login screen, follow the instructions above for the device you’re using.
On either login screen – the desktop version on a computer or the app version on a tablet or smartphone – there are two links or buttons below the boxes to enter your information. On the desktop version these are links, and on the app version these are buttons that will open a browser window on your device once you select them.
Click either on “Forgot User ID?” or, depending on whether you’re using a computer or a mobile device, “Forgot your password?” or “Reset password”. You will then need to choose whether your account is a Truist Bank account or a SunTrust account. To retrieve your information for a Truist Bank account, you will need your email address and social security number. To retrieve your username, you will also need your last name, account or card number, and postal code.

If you are having trouble logging into your Truist account, you can contact the bank directly for assistance. Representatives are available by phone Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
