League of Legends is working on a patch system. Every two or three weeks, depending on how long the patch lasts, new content is added to the game. Whether it’s new skins, new champions or simply balance changesthe game is never the same for long.
If you succeeded in create a PBE account, as good as download server, then you’re ready to test out all the new content, right? Almost. You can test the skins, but you can’t do it for free because even on PBE it will cost RP. Today we’re going to show you how to earn RP and how to test skins before heading to the PBE Reddit to give your opinion.
Are the skins on the PBE server free?
This is probably the most important question regarding the PBE server, and you want to test everything. Are things on the server free? Yes they are. All skins and champions are free on the League of Legends PBE Waiterthough you’ll still have to spend some RP to get them.
How do I earn RP on the PBE server?
The key question for the PBE server is definitely how to earn RP. Even if you have your PBE account and are logged in, you will initially only see 0 Blue Essence Available, along with 0 Riot Points. Looking at your inventory, you’ll see that every champion is unlocked and playable, but the skins are all hidden behind a paywall.
Therefore, you will have to earn RP before you can get the look you want, right? Right. Earning Riot Points is extremely easy on the PBE. All you have to do is play a game. Yes, that’s right, you just have to play one unique matchmaking game on the PBE server, then you will earn enough RP to buy skins to test.
How to test skins on the PBE server
Once you have the RP, you can enter the store and buy all the skins you want to test.. There is old and new content available on the PBE server, but most players use the PBE to test out all new content. You can also play game modes like Teamfight Tactics and test the new skins and Little Legends there too.
Where do you report skin bugs?
If you are having any bugs with new skins, champions, or balance issues, you can head to the official site League of Legends PBE Reddit Page. Of course, if there is a major bug you encounter, you can also use the Bug report tool from Riot themselves. There is also a bug reporting tool in the League of Legends PBE client, which can be found at the bottom right of the screen.
Where can you give your opinion on the skins?
Once again, you can head to the official League of Legends PBE subreddit to give your opinion on the skins. This can include splash art, all champion and skin icons, as well as the game skin itself. Be sure to be courteous, as there are human beings working on the skins behind the screen.

On the LoL PBE subreddit, you will be able to find different threads. Just scroll down to find the champion you’re looking for and respond with your first thoughts and comments. Note that there is no guarantee that the Riot Champions team will implement the changes you have requested.
Earlier in Season 12, players on Twitter and Reddit complained about Seraphine’s hair change on her Prestige Ocean Song skin. At first, it looked like Riot would keep his hair long and unkempt, but after much pushback from the community, Riot ended up changing the hair on the skin back to its original length. This shows that community feedback can be passed to live servers.
Can anyone test skins on the PBE?
Yes, anyone who is Honor Level 3 and above and has a PBE account can get any of the skins on the PBE to try them out. As already mentioned, the PBE server will contain older content, as well as brand new content, so you can try whatever you really want.
Wait times on the PBE are longer
It’s important to note, however, that when testing out new skins and champions and wanting to play matched games, you’ll likely experience a longer wait time than on the regular server. The PBE is not as crowded, which means waiting times are longer and matchmaking is also less regular, due to mismatched MMR.
So if you are curious about the next League of Legends champion and their upcoming skin, then make sure you have a PBE League of Legends account and give them a try. You’ll be ahead of the gang when it comes to your knowledge of new League of Legends content.
