Delhivery has announced the launch of its Guaranteed Same-Day Delivery (SDD) service in 15 Indian cities, in a bid to help businesses build consumer loyalty.
The service, according to Delhivery, will improve user experience and reduce return rates, thereby increasing brand profitability.
Delhivery will work with brands to identify fast moving SKUs (storage units) stored in warehouses close to the end consumer in the city. When a customer places an order on the brand’s website, Delhivery’s algorithm shows the fastest SKUs that can be delivered the same day.
Delhivery, which was launched in 2011 by Sahil Barua, Kapil Bharati and Suraj Saharan as a food delivery company, recently went public (IPO). The organization offers a full range of logistics services through its nationwide network, which covers more than 18,000 PIN codes.
Express parcel delivery, PTL (less truck load) freight, TL freight, cross-border services, supply chain and technology services are all examples.
Since its inception, Delhivery has made over 1.4 billion shipments. It has around 23,600 customers, which include large and small e-commerce players, SMEs and other companies and brands. Amazon, Walmart-owned Flipkart, smartphone maker Xiaomi, fashion store Zara, as well as home appliances and automobiles, use its services.
The company lost Rs 119.68 crore in the fourth quarter of the 2021-22 financial year. This was slightly higher than Delhivery’s loss of Rs118 crore in the same period last year.
