In a recent tweet, the public bank said: “Your bank is now on WhatsApp. Get to know your account balance and view the mini-statement on the go. Here is an overview of how a person can use SBI’s WhatsApp service.
Step 1– Registration
An SBI customer must first register. To do this, type WAREG, then your account number separated by a space, and send an SMS to 7208933148. Note: Send this message from the same number that is registered in your SBI account.
2nd step: Send WhatsApp message number 90226 90226
Step 3– Start WhatsApp banking
Send ‘Hi SBI’ to this number 90226 90226 or reply to the message you received on WhatAapp. Once you have sent a message, you will receive the following message:
Dear Customer,
Please choose one of the options below.
1. Account balance
2. Mini statement
3. Unsubscribe from WhatsApp Banking
SBI WhatsApp card
The State Bank of India also provides its credit card holders with WhatsApp-based services through the platform. Customers with SBI credit cards can use it to check their account overview, reward points, outstanding balance, etc.
All they have to do is send the WhatsApp message “OPTIN” to 9004022022 in order to register with the system. To register for the service, they can also make a missed call from the registered mobile phone on 08080945040 or use the mobile application.
