Riot Games has launched the Social Impact Fund to help struggling organizations around the world by raising money through games like VALORANTS and League of Legends. Initially, the Social Impact Fund only focused on individual skins like Dark Star Cho’Gath to raise enough money. But last year, Riot expanded its social impact fund to entire events, and through the Sentinels of Light campaign, Riot managed to raise $5.8 million for 30 nonprofits. This year’s Social Impact Fund event was the Star Guardian.
According Leagueofficial Twitter account, the Star Guardian event raised $6 million, which will be donated to 400 organizations and more than 25 different causes around the world. We can all thank this for the amazing sales of the Star Guardian Taliyah skin that simply caught the League community with its stunning splash art, rich chromas and effects.
Overall, Riot’s Social Impact Fund grows bigger and better every year, and it enables the company to help even more nonprofits grow and have the impact they really want. Still, his efforts haven’t gone unnoticed since the company received the Golden Halo Award last year for the Dawnbringer Karma fundraiser.
