During an exchange on Twitter, Valorant pro player Martin “Magnum” Peňkov treated himself to a free ice cream after Magnum ice cream learned that the Czech competitor had based his in-game name on the brand of treats.
Magnum and the many other Valorant players are in the middle of the offseason and are looking for a new team to compete with for the 2023 season.
The former Fnatic player was dropped from the KOI on October 9 and given the option to seek offers elsewhere as a restricted free agent.
In the meantime, however, Magnum has managed to use his spare time and influence to earn free ice cream thanks to a little-known factoid by his name.

The conversation started when the Magnum ice cream brand’s account was discovered a message from KOIwho Magnum was playing for.
In this article, KOI asked players to choose their favorite ice cream bar, but photoshopped the Valorant pro’s photo where the Magnum bar would have been.
The brand’s account tagged Magnum and his former team Fnatic and praised the Czech player for “making our name proud”.
Magnum replied that he was proud to have a name inspired by the ice cream maker the brand’s account asked if the player had any treats in his freezer to celebrate his next win.
The former Fnatic player said he needed White Chocolate and Ruby Magnum ice cream bars and the brand’s account responded saying they would send some.

The wholesome interaction has gone on for years, as Magnum hasn’t been shy about the inspiration of his in-game name ever since he made his debut with Fnatic.
KOI is one of the few partner teams to be admitted to the EMEA Valorant league by Riot Games, but the organization has benched its entire roster as it seeks to reload its squad for the 2023 season.
Fans may be able to see Magnum, ice cream bars in hand, in the 2023 season with a new team in the partner league.
