The right has recently become very animated by the idea that a man had set up and plotted to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. It makes them howl from the rooftops.
A “crazy, armed to the teeth with zip ties” came after Kavanaugh and of course it is a scandal. (Even though he turned himself in to the police.) They’re especially angry at Chuck Schumer for saying Kavanaugh “let the wind of the world go” because that clearly isn’t translating into protests over his reported decisions. , but it’s secret code to get a gun and zip ties.
However, there was far less reaction from the right to the news that members of the Proud Boys were planning to kill Nancy Pelosi and Mike Pence in their attack on the Capitol.
An FBI witness said members of the far-right Proud Boys had hoped to assassinate Vice President Mike Pence and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the violent storming of the US Capitol last week.
An FBI special agent made the affidavit as part of a criminal complaint against Dominic Pezzola, 43, accused of participating in the riot in support of President Donald Trump’s false claims that the presidential election was “stolen”. Pezzola, also known as “Spaz,” allegedly used a shield taken from a Capitol police officer to smash a Capitol window before entering the building. An FBI witness said the group with whom Pezzola was discussed committing acts of violence that went far beyond property damage.
“[The witness] said other members of the band talked about things they had done during the day, and they said anyone who got a hold of them they would have killed, including Nancy Pelosi,” reads the statement. the affidavit, which was filed on Wednesday.”[The witness] further stated that members of this group, of which “Spaz” was a part, said that they allegedly killed [Vice President] Mike Pence if given the chance.”
So obviously the person responsible for inciting crime here is Chuck Schumer, not Donald Trump who said “We’re going to the Capitol” where you’ll have to “Fight like hell or you’ll lose your country”. And yeah, we won’t know they came to the Capitol armed with sticks and clubs, helmets, gas masks, bulletproof vests, pepper spray and bears, walkie-talkies for coordination, zip ties, handguns and a reserve of long guns with a “quick reaction force” ready to bring them. Let’s not know that no one died with Kavanaugh, but nine people died during and after the attack on the Capitol. Ignore no one was injured in Kavanaugh, but 150 police officers were injured in the attack on the Capitol, suffering concussions, heart attacks, strokes, a gouged out eye and loss of fingertip. Yes, let’s not think about any of that.
Despite all the talk that this attack resulted from “Antifa” agents “scattered throughout the crowd”, that exact role was played by Proud Boys. Again, all of this was exposed in 1776 Returns.
The full document titled “1776 Returns,” attached as an exhibit in a case filed Wednesday by Tarrio’s co-defendant, Zachary Rehl, was described by a former federal prosecutor as “absolutely devastating evidence.”
Tarrio, Rehl and three other members of the extremist group the Proud Boys face multiple charges, including seditious conspiracy, the most serious charge stemming from the Jan. 6 uprising. The defendants are in jail in Washington, DC, awaiting trial.
Patrick Cotter, a former Chicago federal prosecutor who has practiced criminal law for 40 years, said the “1776 Returns” document is a bombshell for prosecutors, assuming it can be verified.
“The perpetrators are clearly planning multiple, multiple crimes; they say how they’re going to do it, and it’s all in service, apparently, of a larger crime, which is sedition.” Cotter said. “The whole point of the plan is, as they say, ‘No Trump, no America.’ Either Trump will get the presidency, to hell with the election, or they will shut down America and take violent action. .”
In recent J6 hearings, it was well established that Trump and his attorney John Eastman were determined to implement a plan to throw out electoral votes from swing states using Vice President Mike Pence, whom both men knew illegal. This was specifically told to them by White House attorney Pat Cippione. This is a view shared by Mike Pence and his legal adviser Greg Jacob.
Pence’s legal role in the election count: Greg Jacob, an attorney for Pence, said the vice president does not legally see it as his role to decide the election. “There was no way our editors … ever put anyone, especially not someone who had a vested interest in the outcome … in a role to have a decisive impact on the outcome of the election,” he said. declared Jacob. The lawyer said that on Jan. 5, the day before the riot, Trump ally John Eastman admitted the Supreme Court would reject his plan to have Pence reject electoral votes. Retired federal judge Michael Luttig testified that there was “no support” either in the Constitution or in U.S. law for the vice president to “frankly, never count alternate voter rolls from states that don’t had not been officially certified”.
Donald Trump has now shouted ‘EQUAL TIME’ to present his case that the 2020 election was stolen, even though he has already had 62 chances in court to present that case, and repeatedly failed.
Just hours before the House Select Committee began its third televised hearing into the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, former President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account to demand that he be given time to on the same networks to expose what he described as his evidence of “massive election fraud and breaches of Democrat security!”
He followed that up moments later with “I DEMAND EQUAL TIME!!!”
Of course, he could have just that just by testify under oath.
What needs to be shown to lock this case into a giant coordinated conspiracy is the fact that Trump directed, aided, and abetted the Proud Boys’ strategy to attack the Capitol because it would help him in his illegal strategy of pressuring Mike Pence to change the electoral vote count.
Perhaps the emails sent between Pence attorney Greg Jacob and John Eastman could prove this point. As the attack unfolded, Jacob emailed Eastman saying.
Thanks to your bullshit, we’re under siege.
Eastman would have answered that with.
The “siege” is because YOU and your boss failed to do what was necessary to allow this to be released publicly so that the American people could see for themselves what happened,
Hmm. Cause and effect. Quid and Pro Quo.
